Configuring Outlook Express To Catch and ReDirect Spam

Below provides instructions on how to configure Microsoft Outlook Express with your Jedi Marketing Concepts email account, using SpamAssassin which is already set up on your server.

SpamAssassin is automatically set up on your server with a sensitivity of 3. You can change your settings by going to your secure area on your server and change the settings. If you have lost or need help in locating your settings on your server just send us an email and we will send the information to your immediately.

1. Click on Tools > Message Rules
2. Click on Mail
3. In section 1, check the box that says Where the Subject line contains specific words
4. In section 2, Check the box that says Move it to the specified folder
5. In section 3, click on the blue link that says contains specific words
6. In the Type Specific Word Box, type in **POSSIBLE SPAM** and click the Add button, then type in * SPAM* and click the Add button.
7. Click the OK button
8. Back in section 3, click on the blue link that says specified. This will bring up a list of outlook folders.
9. Select the Deleted Items folder
10. Click the OK button
11. In section 4, name the rule SpamAssassin
12. Click OK
13. This should send all mail that is targeted as SPAM to your Deleted Items Folder where you can review the messages to be sure that they are indeed Spam. Don't forget to delete all items in the Delete Folder or they will pile up and become a strain on your email server.
